2009 IKWC Karts

MetalMoro
Official Kart of the 2009 IKWC Brazil

Based in Porto Alegre (southern Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul), MetalMoro has been manufacturing racing karts since 1972. Owner/founder, Mr. Ademar Moro, who used to race karts in the 1970s, eventually found himself being asked to make kart parts and chassis for the karting community of Porto Alegre. His engineering talent became evident when the first Moro karts became winners right out of the box. The Moro karts soon were winning Championships in the south. These were soon followed by Brazilian Championship Titles.

Although the company's origins were in kart racing, MetalMoro has grown and expanded to now include other products, such racecars, car parts, automotive air-conditioning, and even chopper style motorcycles. However, 70% of the company's production is still continues to be geared towards the kart racing market, producing chassis for both kart rental businesses and for pro 125cc racing. MetalMoro karts are sold exclusively by the MetalMoro factory, and are not found at retailer outlets. The factory exports karts to Uruguai and Argentina, as well as other South American countries.

Many famous Brazilian racing drivers have competed and/or won Titles using MetalMoro chassis, including among many others: Marcos Campos; Mário Haberfeld, Marcelo Ventre, Rubens Barrichello, and of course Juliano Moro, who was Gaucho Kart Champion, Brazilian Kart Champion, South American Kart Champion, and now wins races with the Moro MRX Audi Turbo racecar in Brazil's Sportscar Endurance Championship.

Since 2000, with the expansion of the indoor & outdoor kart rental track market in Brazil, MetalMoro has focused the bulk of their kart chassis production to meet this growing demand. In 2009, a brand new fleet of MetalMoro's indoor chassis will be used at the Indoor Kart World Championship event in Brazil.
