Feb 17, 2011 (Como, Italy) - Indoor Kart World Championship competition began today at the CIKI - Campionato Italiano Kart Indoor (Italian Indoor Kart Championship), an official IKWC Qualifier event. The field was divided into 5 groups, with Race 1 for all 5 groups being run in the evening at Como's Mokart Indoor Karting circuit in Italy.

2008 and 2010 Indoor Kart World Champions Gregory Laporte and Kenny Geldhof from Belgium are competing at the CIKI and not making life easy for the top Italian local drivers.

Laporte and Geldhof both won their first day races and are eager to add a new Title to their record.

The other 3 races of the day were won by Italian drivers, most notably driver Claudio Micelli.

Micelli not only won his race, but scored the Fastest Qualifying Time and the Fastest Race Laps of the day in the process.
