DeCuzzi Tires en-route!
June 24, 2011 - Eupener announced today that the 35 brand new GT4 Sodi karts to be used in the 2011 Indoor Kart World Championship have arrived! The karts will be thoroughly tested and matched by Eupener mechanics during the next few weeks to ensure IKWC drivers have equipment as equal as possible.
"The Indoor Kart World Championship was run in Sodi karts for the first time in 2010, and we got tremendous positive feedback from the drivers" says IKWC President, Carlos Carneiro. "The kart is obviously a very important aspect of the IKWC, and Sodi has built a reputation in manufacturing solid, trouble free equipment with great performance. The company earned its position as the top chassis suppier to indoor tracks around the world, and it is great to see the Indoor Kart World Championship drivers competing in Sodi Karts again in 2011."
Meanwhile, the load of DeCuzzi tires to be used in the IKWC is on its way to Belgium. DeCuzzi Tires, who promotes durability as one of the top characteristics of their indoor kart tire, was caught by surprise when the 2010 DeCuzzi IKWC tires showed excessive wear just a few days into the World Championship competition. It was determined that the company had made an unfortunate mistake and had sent a softer tire compound than was needed. The problem did not seriously affect the competition thanks to the valliant effort of the F1 Race Factory mechanics who changed dozens of tires overnight. For 2011, DeCuzzi Tires has developed a new rubber compound which is expected to last the entire Indoor Kart World Championship event.
