2011 IKWC Host Track

Eupener Karting is the largest indoor rental kart facility in Belgium. It is also one of the most experienced tracks when it comes to serious competitive racing, as it stages a very successful yearly 24 hour race, as well as Belgian Championship races. It has recently also become a Sodi World Series partner track, and will top it all off in 2011 by hosting the Indoor Kart World Championship.

Eupener Karting provides a truly exceptional track layout, with an indoor lap of 1 kilometer in length (approx. 70 sec lap). The track design will be modified closer to the date of the event for an even greater challenge. In addition, Eupener’s IKWC track will also feature an outdoor sector for some races, which will extend the lap another 200 to 500 meters. This will be the longest track ever used for the Indoor Kart World Championship, and the first time drivers will be exposed to the weather while racing. July is the month will the highest rain average, so with a little luck the 2011 Indoor Kart World Championship will be the first to include 1 or more wet races.

The track also features a huge bridge, spanning over three roads of track which tunnel underneath. It also has a wide pitlane, and a large timing screen displaying the top 10 positions.

Eupener Karting currently uses French made Sodi GT4 kart chassis, fitted with a 9HP Honda GX270 cc engine. These are some of the most powerful gasoline powered indoor kart racing engines available anywhere, and used by some of the best indoor tracks in the world. The karts have a simple single gear, gas and brake pedal format, rear disk brakes, an adjustable seat, and feature an all-around patented shock absorbing bumper system. Helmets provided if you do not have one!

Eupener Karting features a spacious restaurant and bar area for 250+ people with unobstructed views of the racetrack, two fully equipped changing rooms with showers, two briefing rooms, 100 lockers, on-site certified medical crew, kart weights* for ballast, drive-in kart weight scale, and ample parking area outside.

Eupener Karting’s location is ideal as it sits only a short drive away from great motorsports attractions, such as Spa-Francorchamps and the Nurburgring, as well as wonderful tourist destinations such as the castles along the Rhine and Mosel Rivers nearby in Germany.
